The Hotlist 8th April 2011

It's been a while since we did one of these. In fact, it's probably been well over a year. But anyway, we've decided to bring it back, so you can all understand what we think is cool at the moment. And most importantly, you don't have to agree.

- 'Aneurysm' by Nirvana. A forgotten gem which can be found at the end of Incesticide. One of their best tracks.
- The Northern Quarter Street Party - The lovely @carolekeating is doing an awesome job on this. Get involved.
- The LESS framework. @samscam is having a wild time with it right now! "Or just CSS Post Processes in general" says @martinogden
- Marhaba - the single best curry experience anyone can have.
- Jquery verb generators (we're building one)
Next week will be known as #epiclaunchweek as we've a ton of ace projects to let loose. In the meantime, here's something cool from the Beastie Boys.

Our playlist today is "In the Garage" #cahoonafridays

We all like garage. The only thing is, garage means different things to different people. Some of us like garage rock, others UK garage, and some people just like songs with the word "garage" in them. So, in homage to that cold area attached to the side of your house where your Dad parks the car, today's playlist is all about Garage. Get involved and add your favourite garage tracks here.

Last night we decided to throw a bit of a Christmas party at our favourite pub, and invite along all our friends who have helped make the business such a success and fun thing to do over the last couple of years. We've been threatening to have a party for ages, and following on from picking up the Tasty Website award at the Big Chip, we figured that we needed to give something back to all of you that might have voted for us to win.

The event consisted of loads of nice people, some great music (thanks to the mighty @samstarling, @franmartin420, @gomark, and of course @ben_cahoona and @jag4091), Manchester Eggs, lots of beers, and our latest concoction, the Boomtilla. We also did a rather cool thing with an eye-fi, where pictures of partygoers on the dancefloor were wirelessly transmitted from the camera straight to the screen. It was pretty damn cool. Loads of fun was had, it was awesome to see you all, and maybe, just maybe, we'll go all out to do it again next year.

To take a look at the snaps have a look at our freshly created Flickr account. And if you were at the party, let us know in the comments.

Merry Christmas!
